Laurence Robert Hinton, 75, formerly of Crawfordsville, died Sunday night at Punta Gorda, Fla. Mr. Hinton was a member of the Moose Lodge, Eagles and the Pipe Fitters Union. He was a former police officer for the city of Crawfordsville. Born April 20, 1906, at Crawfordsville, he was a son of Hurley Carlton and Nancy Louise Hinton. He was married in 1929 to Juanita McClure, who preceded him in death. He was married to Elma Kirby, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Robert C. Hinton of Crawfordsville; four daughters, Mrs. Robert Rector of Lafayette, and Mrs. Judy Rogers, Mrs. Patsy Solomon and Mrs. Donna Phillips, all of Crawfordsville; 20 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a niece, Mildred Moyer of Michigan; and several great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother. Arrangements are incomplete at Hunt & Son Funeral Home. smc

Services for Laurence Robert Hinton will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. John Utz officiating. Burial will be in Oakhill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday. The name of a survivor was omitted from the obituary of Mr. Hinton. He is also survived by an aunt, Jennie Cutts of Crawfordsville. – jlr
